Darren Jones MP visit to AUB



Ahead of Small Business Saturday, Shadow Chief Secretary to the Treasury Darren Jones MP visited Bournemouth. With Labour's candidate Jessica Toale met with Dorset-based start-ups at AUB including Design in VR, TurboGaming and Pretty Clever Studio.


Darren and Jessica were shown around AUB's Innovation Studio by Head of Innovation Daniel Cox. They also had spoke with start-up founders about the challenges they faced in starting up and scaling up, including access to grant funding and support when starting out.


Darren's visit coincided with the launch of Labour's Plan for Small Business, which includes an ambition to make Britain the best place to start-up and scale-up.


Jessica and Darren were impressed with AUB's work to support small and innovative tech businesses in Bournemouth. These are an important and growing part of the local economy and have an important role to play in the future of our town.
